His rhythm became unsteady and his mouth more demanding. A moan accompanied each impassioned kiss. They grew deeper and louder until it changed to him crying out her name with each thrust.
A wave of pleasure crashed through her then, and she joined her cries with his. Surge after surge broke over her body until they both lay limp on her narrow cot, limbs entwined in a lovers tangle.
With his face pressed into her hair he whispered, “I have a present for you.”
“You do?” A flutter of excitement settled in her stomach that reminded of her of Christmas morning as a child.
He pulled something from his petals and placed it in her hand.
“Your data chip!” She smiled and traced its edges. “You really do understand me.”
