This time Anne Latimer came slowly down to greet them and welcome them to their new home. ‘You will be happy here,’ she promised as she had before.
No one else seemed to notice that they’d stopped or that the family ghost had appeared, and when Anne stepped back and faded from sight, they continued walking.
With her welcome ringing sweetly in their ears, they went into the old hall to receive their wedding guests and start their new life.
