Looking down into crib, I see the beet-red face of my screaming daughter. I scoop her up and hold her against my chest, kissing the crown of her little head.
“There, there, princess,” I whisper. “Daddy’s here.”
When Pearl immediately stops crying and starts to coo, I’m overwhelmed by a feeling of happiness and contentment. I’m the luckiest guy in the world, living this life with my two girls.
