Her eyes sparkled. “Well, simple’s out of the question, but I think I can handle the ‘small’ part of your wish.”
He looked at her, puzzled. “Have you and Casey cooked up something else?”
She smiled. “No, actually, this is something you and I cooked up.” Fox took his hand and placed it on her belly. “We’re going to have a baby, Travis,” she said, her eyes never wavering from his.
It all made sense now—the secrecy, the glow about her. “I’m going to be a daddy?” he managed, his voice an awed whisper.
She nodded. “So what do you think?”
“That it just doesn’t get any better than this.” He kissed his bride, the future mother of his child, showing her what he couldn’t put into words. Today was the first day of a beautiful future.
