Dr Gabriele Alessandro, eminent glaciologist, Jesuit priest, and leader of the Vatican intelligence’s classified Iceman Three expedition, looked directly into the camera lens of the Vostok iris recognition system.
A moment later, huge steel doors slid open to reveal the most sophisticated underground communications center in the Southern Hemisphere.
The belly of the top secret intelligence base, which, to all intents and purposes, was invisible to the outside world.
Contrary to disinformation reports of its collapse and subsequent burial under millions of tons of ice, the abandoned Russian research station was, in reality, a living, heaving underground intelligence complex, under the control of the combined intelligence communities of the United States, the UK, the Russian Federation, and the Vatican. And gateway to the largest archeological dig in the world—an ancient subterranean city that had lain buried for centuries, two miles beneath the ice.
After decades of intense research, Gabriele Alessandro was almost persuaded that Admiral Byrd’s secret diary of a subterranean city that lay beneath secret Antarctic doors, inhabited by Nordic-looking extraterrestrials and their flying craft, existed.
