  we try to go back

  lies broken and buried

  covered by sins

  forgotten it seems

  the feeling of dreams

  Awake from this nightmare

  return to my arms dear

  We forgive and forget

  but we can never go back

  to the love we once had

  to the life we once led

  So where do we go -

  does anyone know?

  When all love has gone

  to nothing so fast

  will you remember my name and the reasons why?

  to kiss my lips and feel my touch

  will you remember my song and the words so old?

  When I held you down so you could not move

  but every once in a while

  I get over my head

  let the devil come in

  we talk for a while

  and he lets me win

  I get back in my car

  my home seems to far

  »You can make it!« he says

  »Don't think nothing less!«

  Driving back home

  a long way to Rome

  get the devil off my back

  find some comfort instead

  The light so divine

  if I crash I won't mind

  never cared 'bout myself

  won't leave nothing behind

  And the lights go away

  just a truck on its way

  snap back to the world

  I'm feeling so cold

  Is anyone here?

  Oh Lord, can you hear?

  I know I ain't good

  but I can't be all bad

  Guide me back to my home

  too tired to roam

  please keep me safe

  I swear I'll behave

  and I'll do my best

  won't go down with the rest

  DOWN ON ONE KNEE

  Look out through your window

  in the distance you'll see

  no more than one man

  down on his knee

  Another heart broken

  how long will it be?

  Right from the start

  I gave you my heart

  back from the dead

  and up to my head

  Rest asure I'll be here

  Long gone are the days

  of my wandering ways

  violins and roses

  each time the day closes

  Year after year

  AUTHOR'S NOTES

  I've published the first two volumes towards the end of a month, so I guess I'll keep doing that for some reason; with the exception of next month - there will instead be a really short story for you to read.
