  ONE NIGHT STAND

  Eyes locked, lips sealed

  Hands touch, she's thrilled

One kiss and her body shivers

One night, oh how she delivers

She said – Young man, you’ve got the biggest ... !

  I said – Well ma’am, won’t you give it a lick!

One kiss and her body shivers

One night, oh how she delivers

I said – Well ma’am, what should I start with?

She said – Young man, go straight for the ... !

One kiss and her body shivers

One night, oh how she delivers

She said – Young man, your body’s so tight!

I said – Well ma’am, you too look all right!

One kiss and her body shivers

One night, oh how she delivers

I said – Well ma’am, this sure calls for repeatin’!

She said – Young man, I gotta run, my husband’s awaitin’!

One kiss and her whole body shivered

One night, oh how she delivered

  HOW MUCH LONGER?

The trees don't give a damn about all the books you've read

and how enlightened you feel in front of your so-called friends

  Tell me, how much longer?

The rain drops don't worry about the coming flood

and that your house is made of old and rotting wood

  Tell me, how much longer?

The dead don't care about your weekend sorrow

and all the tears you've shed above their muddy grave

  Tell me, how much longer?

And tomorrow doesn't care just how you feel today

and that you're lying broken-hearted on the rundown couch

  Tell me, how much longer?

Now if we paint our conversations white

do you think we could start again without a fight?

  But for how much longer?

  THE GOOD DOCTOR

  I’m leaving

  I’m leaving you

I’m going to see the good good doctor

he said he’d take me in tomorrow

  I need a new heart

‘cause you broke the one that I had

I need a new pair of hands

these only know how to hold you close

  I need some new lips

these ones were made to kiss only you

I need a new set of eyes

the ones that I have, they only see your face

  I need a new brain

this one is filled with memories of you

  I’m leaving

  I’m leaving you

I’m going to see the good good doctor

he said he’d take me in tomorrow

  I need a new heart

‘cause I want to love again

I need a new pair of hands

to hold someone when the nights get long

  I need some new lips

to shape and show a smile

I need a new set of eyes

to see the beauty of this world

  I need a new brain

  to start thinking straight again

  And so I’m leaving

  Yeah I’m leaving you today

I’m going to see the good good doctor

he said he’d take me in tomorrow

  DARK ROOM

  In a dark room

  there's a corner

  where the starlight pushes through

  And it shines on

  to the table

  filled with stories about you

  But you sleep on

  never bothered

by the shadows – how they dance

  As they move up

  from the table

upon the picture on the wall

  And they dance ‘round

  with the geishas

  moving quiet, framed in gold

  And the silence

  keeps on playing

  keeps inviting – dance along

  ‘fore the morning

  when you wake up

  all the dancers disappear

  And the silence

  stops its music

a new day can now begin

  And you wake up

  to the sounds of

passing cars out on the street

  I don’t tell you

  ‘bout the shadows

how they danced on through the night

  I don’t tell you

  how the silence

  echoed through us and around

  You keep sleeping

  never bothered

by the shadows – how they dance

  And the silence

  keeps on playing

  keeps inviting – dance along

  D.O.S.

  I see anger

  coming from you lips

  I see anger

  on your lips

  I see fire

  burning in your eyes

  I see fire

  in your eyes

  I see pain

  pouring down your face

  I see pain

  on your face

And the sign on the wall said ‘Doors opening soon!’

  I feel sadness

  building in my heart

  I feel sadness

  in my heart

And I walk through that door

still I walk through that door

  THOSE LIPS

  When the Sun goes down

I lay on the bed, my head is spinning around

  I call out your name

and hope to hear your voice

It’s been so long since I have seen you

so long since I have kissed those lips

  Gonna jump on a plane

and run up to your house in the pouring rain

  if you let me in

  I would never leave

I follow no man and I follow no rules

but I’ll follow your long legs wherever they go

Now I don’t need no priest

no holy words or ancient wisdoms from the east

  stand by my side

and I will stand by yours

Now you don’t need no ring

I’ll be wrapped around your finger more than anything

  you be my woman

and I will be your man

  Then the Sun comes up

and I crawl out of bed just like a lazy pup

  I call out your name

  but never hear your voice

It’s been so long since I have seen you

so long since I have kissed those lips

  THE FUNKY LIZARD (part one)

Gonna tell you a story, 'bout a fat man's blues..

See, I was in this bar the other day.. this bar called..umm..the Funky Lizard ..

on – what happened to be – a Friday night

I was sitting in this bar and.. I was having a drink, you know..

So I’m having a drink.. and this young guy comes up

he comes up with this bass guitar of his..

he comes up and starts playin’ this tune, you know.. this deep, soulful tune..

  like this ___

And when he was done.. when he st
opped playin’ that soulful tune,

I turned ‘round to the lady at the bar.. I turned ‘round and said:

“Look here, miss! Get that man a beer! ..and put it on his tab..”

‘cause I ain’t got that kind of money, you know..

Now she lookin’ funny at me..

Now she done got that man a beer.. and I got mine too..

so I’m drinkin’ my beer.. and he’s drinkin’ it too

then out of nowhere comes this other guy..

and he walks on up, with a harmonica in his hand..

he walks on up and starts blowin’ in that harmonica, you know..

and there was this upbeat sound.. it was something like this ___

And when he was done.. when he stopped and put that harmonica in his pocket,

I turned back ‘round to the lady at the bar.. I turned back ‘round and said:

“Look here, miss! Get that man a beer! ..and put it on his tab..”

‘cause I ain’t got that kind of money, you know..

  and I’m still drinkin’..

Now she done got that man a beer.. and I got mine too..

so we’re drinkin’ beer, the three of us.. we’re drinkin’ and one of them says:

“Look here, man! Why don’t you come and play a song with us?

Why don’t you come and play a song with us right now?”

I said: “I don’t know.. all I wanted was to get drunk, you know..”

So the guy turns ‘round to the lady at the bar.. he turns ‘round and goes:

“Look here, miss! We gon’ need a shot of bourbun for this table here!

..and then we gon’ play something..”

Now she lookin’ funny at us..

Now she done got us that bourbon.. and up the stage we went..

and it sounded a little something like this ___

Now at this particular time, this fella walks up.. he walks on up to us and goes:

“Look here, gentlemen! I see you missin’ a drummer.. so may I join in on this jam here?”

So we let him pass to the back.. to the corner where the drums were..

And it came out a little something like this ___

  LET IT GO

You get me down and still I want you

you get me up when I don’t want to

I hold my breath, there’s no escaping

I hold my breath and let it go

If only it were a dream

  if only we were nothing

Keep running around the same old circle

keep running around and feeling lost

You take the wheel, there’s no escaping

you take the wheel and let it go

If only it were a dream

  if only we were nothing

Turn off your mind and make it easy

turn off my mind if you don’t want to

Another day to make it crazy

another day to let it go

If only it were a dream

  if only we were nothing

  AUTHOR’S NOTES

  Hello there!

This may or may not be the last volume, and it will be like that with any possible new volumes. I stopped writing with intention, now I just do it for fun when/if I come up with something. Also, no more ‘end of the month’ publishing rule; decided to abandon that too. I’m pretty much left without a system of control, currently in a state of freefall, we’ll see how it goes and where it takes me.

Written in the last month of NZ, and in the first month of being home.

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it, and if not – at least you didn’t have to pay for it. Have a nice day.

  Farewell there!
