  Acknowledgement

I would like to express my deepest appreciation to my father, Hematram Yadav, for providing me with an idea to collect and compile a book of quotes. I would also like to thank Vinod Ratti for always inspiring me to “write, write and write” and for suggesting I try my hand at writing non-fiction, a “quotable quotes” book. This idea and suggestion is now a reality. I hope readers would find the quotes in the first volume of my quote collection, inspirational and motivational, just as how these quotes have always lifted my spirits one way or another.

I would also like to thank my readers for the support in taking your time to read my books. It is truly appreciated. I hope you enjoy these quotes just as much as I enjoyed compiling them.

You get up before dawn and go to sleep well past the setting sun. And often, you stay awake throughout the nights – waking to the cry of an infant or the whimper of a toddler with a bad dream or up watching for the teenager to return home. You, even though you are tired, wake in the morning and put a smile on your face and look at those little ones who kept you up through the night and whisper to them “I Love You”. It’s a love that isn’t dependent on sleep or looks or agendas. It’s a mother’s love

Kids don’t remember what you teach them. They remember what you are.

  Jim Henson

No matter what has happened, something good is always around the corner and the sun will always shine again.

“I love you” means that I accept you for the person that you are, and that I do not wish to change you into someone else. It means that I will love you and understand you and stand by your even though the worst of times. It means loving you in your bad mood, worst times or too tired to do the things I want you to do. It means loving you when you are down, not just when you are fun to be with. “I love you” means I know your deepest secrets and do not judge you for them, asking in return that you do not judge me for mine. It means that I care enough to fight for what we have and that I love you enough not to let go and walk away. So, if there are people out there whom you have not said, “I love you”, be it parents, siblings, friends and/or spouses, tell them now before it’s too late. The time is now!

Even at your best, someone will always have something negative to say. Pursue greatness anyway.

Once you realize your past is just a story, it has no power over you.

The only source of knowledge is experience.

Not everyone thinks the way you think, knows the things that you know, believes in the things you belief and act the way you do.

Life isn’t about waiting for your fate; it’s about creating your destiny.

If you are expecting the world to treat you fair just because you are fair, it’s like expecting a lion not to eat you because you are vegetarian.

There are so many things that can make us happy. Don’t focus too much on those things that make you sad.

I’m no one special, just a common person with common thoughts. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will eventually be forgotten. But, in one aspect, I have succeeded gloriously as anyone who has ever lived. I have loved with my heart and soul and for me that is enough.

No one can go back and start a new beginning, but, we can always start now to make a happy ending.

There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama and the people who create it and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good. After all, life is to short to be anything but happy.

Doomsday predictions exist in all religions and civilizations throughout time immemorial, in ancient and modern history. However, these predictions are all based on God-fearing concepts. God-loving is the way. We are all His children. The sun would always set so that it may rise the next day, bright and sunny.

We live in a world that is getting warmer and people are becoming colder.

They say light travels faster than sound. “They”, obviously didn’t know that gossip travels faster than light and sound.

Keep smiling and life will get tired of upsetting you.

“Avoid a negative approach to life. Why gaze down at the sewers when there is loveliness all around us? One may find some fault in even the greatest masterpieces of art, music and literature. But, isn’t it better to enjoy their charm and glory?

  Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Wanting to be a success is an aspiration. Doing something about success is perspiration.

Remind yourself that nobody built you the way you designed yourself.

If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer will always be no. If you don’t step forward, you will always be in the same place.

You are the sole custody of your life. Who are you are today is not what you have to be tomorrow. Embrace the possibility of transformation.

  Leeza Gibbons

Whatever one aspires to be can be realized if one is rooted on a foundation of ethics, fair play and honesty.
