“Wake up sleepy head time to rise and shine.” A growl was the only response.

“Come on sleepyhead you have to meet with Thomas before he leaves today.”

“No I want to stay here in this bed with you all day. Nothing exist outside of this room.”

With that stated Rain rolled over to Phoenix and pulled her close and closed his eyes signing deeply. Phoenix smiled and rub the top of Rains head she loved him so very much.

Smiling Phoenix said, “I need to talk to you about a dream I had. I’ve had this same dream every night this week. I haven’t said anything about it before, because I just knew it was about someone else, now I am not so sure.”

Rain sat up to look at Phoenix, if she was having a dream that bothered her he needed to listen. Not just because she was his mate and he loved her deeply which he did, but because she had the sight and her dreams had saved this pack before.

“Tell me the dream love you will feel better.”

“It always starts the same way I am sitting on the couch and I hear a voice saying I found you and your mine.”

“There is a scent in the dream that I don’t recognize, yet it seemed familiar. There is never a face, no body just a voice and a scent.”

Rain kissed her she looked so sad. “I love you Phoenix, I am not sure what your dream means. Know this though that no one will ever take you from me. No one will ever take me from you. You are my love and my life. I will never leave you and I will never let you go.”

“Now let me show you just how much,” Rain had that cocky grin that just melted Phoenix down to her toes. Just as Rain was about to kiss Phoenix the doorbell sounded.

“Who would be crazy enough to bother us here?” Growled Rain in his most alpha voice.

“Down boy,” laughed Phoenix as she got out of bed. “I will get the door you calm down.”

“Fine, I’m gonna take a shower. Quick question did the dream give you any idea when this person will arrive.”

Phoenix stopped in the doorway and turned back slightly looking at Rain over her shoulder. “No, I have no idea. Giving a half smile Phoenix walked out of the room to answer the door.

Rain watch Phoenix walk out of the room. Walking into the bathroom thinking about her dream. Phoenix had almost always been right when she had these visions. Another mate for her, Rain knew he couldn’t share Phoenix with another wolf. He was an Alpha and wouldn’t be able to share his throne with another. Someone was coming this much was certain he would have to deal with it when it happened. Rain meant what he said no one was taking Phoenix from him. They were meant for each other and no one was going to come between them. Let someone try it, Rain growled deep in his throat a warning to the unknown and the unseen.

  Chapter Two

Phoenix walked through the cabin toward the door looking around her as she went. She loved this cabin their little space away from the main part of the village. Phoenix loved her new pack but it was good to get a little away sometimes and just be alone with Rain. The whole pack helped to build this cabin. It was simple in design, open floor plan with large rooms and plenty of windows to allow the sun in and a wonderful view of the woods.

The living room had one of the biggest fireplaces Phoenix had ever seen, two full grown men could stand inside with no problem. There was a huge sofa and loveseat, with two big wingback chairs and matching ottomans.

As Phoenix approached the door she recognized one of the scents outside it as Thomas but he was not alone. The new scent was familiar, although she was unable to place it. Whatever brought Thomas to the door must be important if he couldn’t wait for Rain in the main square a few minutes longer.

“Alright Thomas what’s the crisis that couldn’t wait five more minutes?” Phoenix asked as she opened the door.

“Him,” stated Thomas as he stepped aside to allow Phoenix a look at the stranger. “He says he needs help finding his mate. He was told to speak to our Alphas they would know what to do.”

“Really, who told you to seek us out?” Phoenix looked at the stranger.

“I would prefer to talk privately if you don’t mind. I will tell you everything.”

His voice was so very sexy, deep and full of confidence. Phoenix looked him over 6’ 1”, muscles in all the right places. He was well formed and lean. He was wearing a black t-shirt that looked sprayed on and jeans so tight it was a wonder he could breathe. Hair in waves down to his shoulder, black with flecks of red throughout. All in all just yummy on a stick.

“Come on in I’ll get Rain.”

“The pups are waiting for me Phoenix, I will go on if your o.k.” Thomas looked from the stranger to Phoenix concern in his eyes.

“That’s fine Thomas go ahead we’re good here. Have a great time and be safe. Do you need anything? Want to see Rain before you go?”

“No, we have everything Rain can stay here and take care of this. I guess, I will see you in a few days. Storm, Blue and Sand are here if you need them.” Thomas said this looking at the stranger as he walked off the porch.

Phoenix just smiled, “thanks again Thomas.”

“Well come in and have a seat I’ll be right back. I’m Phoenix by the way and you are?”

“Hawk, my name is Hawk Red-tail.”

“Ok Hawk Red-tail I will be right back, make yourself at home.” With that Phoenix walked back into the bedroom and closed the door.

Hawk looked around the cabin it was made in great taste. Big rooms and plenty of light and comfortable furniture. Looking where Phoenix walked to was a short hall that went both to the left and the right. Phoenix went to the right so he assumed that was her bedroom. Standing in the living room looking to the right was a dining room with a huge kitchen beyond that.

The one who really held Hawks attention, was Phoenix. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She was 5’ 9”, sleek with ebony hair with streaks of burgundy, gold and brown hanging to her waist. Skin so smooth reminds him of cocoa butter. But, it was her eyes that truly held him they were grey with flecks of black. It gave her a mysterious look. As if she saw beyond anything mortals see, as if she could read your soul. The eyes were oh, so sexy.

Phoenix walked in just as Rain was putting on his shirt. Every time Phoenix looked at him she couldn’t believe her luck in having a man this good looking in love with her. Rain was just too sexy for words. Strong arms like tree trunks, legs so thick. His t-shirt and jeans looked painted on, they were so tight hiding nothing. His eyes were so black, so deep Phoenix always felt like she was falling into an underground pool when gazing into his eyes.

Rain looked over, so who was at the door he asked as he put on his shoes. Phoenix walked over to her dresser to get some jeans and a shirt, I guess my shower will have to wait she thought.

“Thomas brought us a surprise before he left. Oh, he said everything was handled and you did not need to come to the square.”

  “What kind of a surprise?”

“A gorgeous man.” Phoenix told him.

“A what?” Rain stopped walking to the door turn completely around and looked at Phoenix.

“A man he says his name is Hawk and that he was told to find us, because we could help him find his mate. Don’t you think this is strange?”

“Phoenix let’s not read too much into this. We will talk to him first. Besides we don’t know his mate or do we?”

/>   Phoenix looked at Rain walking over to him “I don’t know all I do know is that I love you and I love our life. Now let finish dressing I will make some coffee and join you in the living room. Rain, be nice.”

Rain smiled and walked into the living room. Phoenix finished dressing quickly and went into the kitchen to make the coffee.

“Hello I am Rain the Alpha, please have a seat Phoenix is getting coffee she will be right in.”

As if on cue Phoenix walked in with a tray loaded with coffee, juice, muffins, bagels, and doughnuts. Let’s get comfortable before we begin, Hawk how do you take your coffee and please help yourself to some breakfast.

Rain waited impatiently while Phoenix played the dutiful hostess.

“Now that everyone has a drink and food let’s get to the bottom of why we’re here.”

“Hawk can you explain how you came to know about us and why you think we would know your mate.” Rain used his alpha voice.

Hawk looked at Rain, thinking his name was very misleading and he felt sorry for anyone who had the misfortune of getting on his bad side. He was more like a thunderstorm than a gentle rain.

Glancing from Rain to Phoenix, Hawk placed his coffee cup on the table, leaned his head slightly to the side exposing his neck a little to show respect not submission and stated, “Mary is a seer in our town. Yesterday she called me into her home. She informed me that my mate was not among the members of our town. That I would have to take a trip. She said this trip had two purposes: One I would find my mate and two my mate needed help. She said for me to seek out the Alphas of this village they would know what to do.”

“Did she say who was in trouble or what the problem was,” inquired Phoenix.

“No only that I had to be here to help.”
