  The Soul-mate

  About Neeti Tibrewala

Grandmother! She is our family’s dearest and most loved member. She is a soul with full of life and a versatile personality. She has always supported and inspired her grandchildren to proceed towards quality life. I have been the closest of her grandchildren. She talks to me to smile but I cannot be with her all the time. These are some lines dedicated to that heart of gold. She has given more than a decade of her life in my upbringing. I always shared her bed and her room till I had my own. The food is tastier when we eat in her room on the floor watching popular television shows and daily soaps. She is my ‘Darling Daadi’.

  Dearest for all

She is active since dawn, flowing like a waterfall

Advanced in thoughts; adored by all

Her sojourn to her families spread

Is like stable pearls and a moving thread

My days glorify with the holy angel

Daadi is superb, noble and humble

Her giving nature is bonus for us

Daadi dials English numbers without any fuss

She lives her life in true sense

  And carries immense patience

So much in her is unshared

Daadi and I are divinely paired

  Just by observing her pain

  Brings me in tears

  Getting old is something

  I just can’t reverse

  Lesser I see her

  More I miss her

  She loves me much more

  Than I can ever ponder

Ironical to her age and time

Aware of all that sparks and shine

  Eats less when she dines

Talks more if her daughter is on the line

  Being like her is impossible

  Yet I try very hard

Learning spirit of hers is the best guard

To walk with us hand in hand

And also with generations when they stand.

We all know that parents play a vital role in our lives. Be it the mother who gave us birth, be it our environment that nurtures us like a mother or be it a person who supports our mother and family in our right upbringing. We cannot forget our responsibilities towards each of them. My poem recites their hard work and selfless activities and also that we should at least value them. I can understand my parents much more being a parent myself. Motherhood and fatherhood are not just loving your children but also equally taking care of the family members. When I cannot handle my son’s mischief and when he does not eat properly then I remember my parents’ hard work and patience in bringing me up.

  World's Mother

Mother is always world for a child or man,

  Mother treats us as a part of her body and soul;

  Mother scolds us at times,

  Even beat us sometimes,

  She does all this to guide us, from the way to foul;

  She serves us without expecting to serve her;

  She does her duty,

  No matter if we don't remember;

  She is the wisest and sweetest friend anyone can have;

  She is only the one who is brave;

Shouldn’t we respect her love for us that she hides?

  We should serve her,

Do all the duties towards her,

At times be her friend too,

As she is world for us.

Once just read what's written in her eyes,

  You’ll get the answer,

"My child you are the world for me".

  Fatherhood

  Papa! Dad! Father!

  Are names of you!

  You give us shelter

  You give us vesture

  You are the bread-bringer

  You keep us in order

  Your presence bring luster

  Papa! Dad! Father!

  Are names of you!

  Your affection is invisible

  Yet! It’s contagious

  Your fear in us

  Keep us from being atrocious

Your arms are wide and spacious

  Us all can fit in

  Papa! Dad! Father!

  Are names of you!

  You are our pride

You are always on our side

  You are modern enough

  No matters to hide

  Papa! Dad! Father!

  Are names of you!

  You played with us

Today, you play with our children

  You nurtured us

We follow you like a train

  You observe us both in

  Happiness and pain

  Papa! Dad! Father!

  Are names for you!

Who is a sister? I did not write it to explain the world the definition of a sister. I have written it to dedicate it to my little sister who is always there for me. The level of comfort that we share with our sisters and brothers at home is known to everyone. But there are people who don’t have the freedom to share their feelings so they look for true friends around in this materialistic world. I was on top of the world to realize that I did not have to find a true friend and I had a gem with me. I wrote this poem to express my in depth love for my sister. From the poem you can grasp that I am not a professional poet and that is the true essence of my poem to spell her feelings and let the world know that I have a wonderful sister.

  Who is a sister?

A sister is the one who makes life easier to live,

Whom you can share our likes and dislikes with,

She is the one who tells us her vast secrets and feelings

And asks us to do the same,

And has the rights to know all our friends' name.

She makes us feel comfortable when we are sad,

  She guides us the right way when we are bad;

She is more than any word can tell,

She holds us when we tend to fall.

She comes to know our problems through our eyes,

She is of course naughty but wise,

  She is my life's sunrise.

We should always make one full of these qualities to be a sister.

And my Sister you are the most beloved to me

As you care so much for me!

Like every teenager has a dream of someone special. This poem describes one of the dreams where the beauty is night and the cherry on cake is the dream boy.

  The Night of My Dream

In the night of my dream there was a moon,

So beautiful that I came out of my room,

The stars twinkling like flowers at night,

As though the galaxy was a garden.

I told that it was beautiful.

  I repeated the words again.

  Suddenly it began to rain.

There was a man standing on the sand.

I went near him, asked, who is he?

He replied that he was my dream boy,

But I, annoyed, ran back to my room.

  He was still standing there.

After a while, I again went near him,

Asked, what was he here for?

He replied he was there to love me.

Slowly, the moonlight brightened his face.

I started staring at him, wet under the rain.

The stars were twinkling more brightly.

&nbsp
; The moon was more beautiful.

Smile is definitely etiquette that all of us want to see in everyone around us. But we sometimes forget that the world around us also expect the same from us.

  Strength of smile

Smile is the most beautiful gift,

  Received by us from Him,

Smile makes the good in us come up,

  Moreover, you journey a pilgrim.

  We must smile always though,

Thorns of sorrow come across our path,

  We must smile always though,

  Hardships occur wherever we go.

To enter world's heart within a moment,

With a little hard work and a smile, and

That'll definitely bring smirk on their face,

Because smile has its own style.

When things don’t go according to what we thought of we have a fear erupting in us. The fear kills our strength from inside gradually leaving us empty within. This poem depicts the momentary feeling of loosing someone special in your life forever.

  Flood of Emotions

  The flood of emotions…

  Sometimes making me happy

  Sometimes sad

  Sometimes angry and

  Sometime excited…

The emotions weakening me from inside

  Killing me…

Making me feel that I don’t love him any more

The very next moment missing him badly

For only his love under the sun

  Hitting me…

To either stay this side or that side

Decisions were being difficult, more difficult and finally most difficult

To spare him his life and spare myself from all the emotions

Fear of losing him became the only reason to loose him

  I lost him forever.

But damn! The flood of emotions did not spare me!

  Will it ever spare me?

Yesterday is a poem with some negative views that turn to positive thoughts in life. It says, may what come in life we need to move on and console ourselves that tomorrow is brighter than yesterday.

  Yesterday

Yesterday when I read those mails

It was like reading a piece of distrust

Making me realize that the decision I made was right

Those words did not seep within me that day

It was yesterday when I read each and every word

  The words meant a lot

Lot more than I had ever thought

Best of friends can lie to death of relationships

Requests for making things work out were fake

Fake enough to make the other break into pieces

  Thank God!

Life is much easy to live

I can breathe now with no regrets!

‘One year old’ is a poem that I dedicate it to my son. His charm and naughtiness was the sole inspiration behind this poem. ‘Dhairya’ is a sweetheart for both his maternal and paternal families. Since morning his hyper activeness startles the eyes of his grandparents. Dhairya’s aunts and uncles are a huge fan of his playful attitude.

  One year old

  This menace is my son

Brings me a lot of fun

  Always wants to run

Hates to eat even a little bun

  I love oiling him

  But he loves bathing

  And is annoyed

  If the taps aren't running

  He bites the candies

  Swallows rice

  Dislikes chapatti

  But oats are nice

  Only if filled with spice

  His actions during rhymes

  Makes my eyes shine

If he gives a good take

Then the effort is all mines

This little one has many fans

  They keep on visiting

Yet! the uploading of photos and videos are never ending.

  Toys bore him

He is amazed by the sounds

  Loitering is favorite pastime

Music makes him go round and round

  I enjoy listening "shhooooo"

While tying his shoe lace up

  And also "mum”

When his tumbler is bottoms up

  Splashing water everywhere

  Killing winter worries me

  Leaking diapers don't bother him

  Being naughty is 'Me'!

To sleep, he hides my phone inside him

As though I am a thief

I need to stare at him

The lullabies can take a leave

  Some injections kept him healthy

  Some drops, able

My son! You will always be in my prayers and

  And a prayer too

  'Dhairya', I love you

May you arise high like a star

  That shines on its own

  And also help others shine.

  Twice is the fun

  They love

  To paint and scribble

  Here and there

  Scolding them? Is not done!

  Twice is the fuss and

  Twice is the fun

  Running behind their moms

  Crawling up the stairs

  Rolling on the floor

  Sliding down the steps

  Hopping on the beds

  Yet! After banging their heads

  Twice is being naughty and

  Twice is the fun

  Granies take pride

  In their mischievous smile.

  Uncle and aunts

  Love to mimicry with them

  They are the new parrots

Picking all that ears can hear

  They are the little Einstiens

  Inventing ways to dare.

  Twice is the learning and

  Twice is the fun

  Toddlers is the keyword!

  Playing mobile games,

  Listening to music,

  Dancing on fast beats,

  Digging the mud,

  Copying the seniors, and

  Splashing water everywhere

  Sweets and chocolates

  Are not to share

  Twice to toddle around and

  Twice is the fun

On my own! On my own!

The new tag line in the home

  Drinking water in the glass

  Having meal on the plates

  Tumblers and feeders

  Are no more their mates

They are fed up of milk

Don’t miss a chance to spill

  Twice is being stubborn and

  Twice is the fun

  24/7 Doremon lovers

  Oral rhymes are outdated

  What’s in fashion?

  Is the animated ones

  Oh my God!

  They are now smarter,

  Louder and faster.

  Twice is the rush and

  Twice is the fun

We all know that giving love to someone very special is a beautiful feeling but to get loved with the same person is the most beautiful feeling. My soul mate loves me so much that words are short for him. Since the day I have known him he has always tried his best to understand me. His company in my life is the most valued feeling. I talk to him and he prefers to listen without much reaction. He knows that just by listening to my thoughts and mindset would reenergize me to face the world once again. His support in upbringing our child has been tough for him earlier but now it’s not just support but a strength that backs me to work harder. He is not much expressive but I can make out that he wants to see happy faces around him so that he is always in good mood. He and his frequent mood swings go hand in hand. My family had chosen him for me and I am glad that they did. No other person would have made my life so momentous than he did. This poem is dedicated to my handsome husband for being mine!

  The Soul-mate

Even a single day without you

Makes me feel dull and down

  Just your voice and words

&
nbsp; Can make me well and sound

Talking about you with my friends

Makes me proud that you are mine

This is simply not your style

To bring sweets, gifts, cake, and wine

Playing cards with you is super fun

After all day tasks were done

My days of rest were made simple

As though you slept in a rumble

We have had bad days also

  My unusual steps were ignored

My anger was turned into smiles

I want to travel with you miles and miles

You take away my sorrows in a second

Can judge me within a beckon

Loving you is like loving me

You are what a soul-mate should be.
