  From me to you

  If you’re someone who hates all the fluff added before a book because you simply can’t wait to start your journey, I’ll say—I feel your pain. But I have always enjoyed reading author notes, well, Stephan King’s author notes and this is the first time I’ve added any to a full novel, so bear with me because I can’t promise it’ll be short.

  In the beginning, I sat down to write my second book. I had no story, but I love to write. I did however, have a first line; “I woke with humidity already wreaking havoc to my slightly overweight body.” And so began my journey, I try to write two thousand words a day because Stephan King suggested it. If you don’t know I’m a huge fan, big, his self proclaimed number one. Anyway, even with no idea where my tale would take me, each morning I woke up and found more of the story. I stopped working on it to write other books but I came back to it when I decided to write a book about werewolves. I’d read a particularly bad one and thought I could do better, or just as well. I scrapped about half of what I’d written and weaved in my twist on where werewolves came from. I love it when people come up with new ideas on the beginnings of paranormal creatures. J.R. Ward and her Black Dagger Brotherhood series is my current favorite, before that it was Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles.

  I finished the book in record time. All my books are finished within a week. Then came the daunting task of proofing and editing, which I suck at. I know because you tell me, but I try and I’ll get it right one day—I promise. The book had great download numbers and pretty good reviews (beside the complaints of poor grammar and typo’s) but there were numerous comments that said the book ended too fast and people were hoping for a second book.

  To be honest Lupa was the only book I’d written with a clear end in sight. And while, I knew the book ended suddenly (purposefully) I was done. I went on to write another book but each day I checked comments, they were the same. I’d even received a few emails from readers. They wanted more, wanted to know what happened to Josette and her black wolf Max.

  I opened my word file and re-read (fixing grammar and typos along the way) to find out if Max and Josette had anything else they wanted to share. And they did. I kept the bulk of the book the same, there are about ten thousand new words at the end and I must say—I like them. So keeping my fingers crossed that I’ve fixed worrisome grammar and typos I decided to release the book, not as a revision, but a second edition. There were enough changes to warrant the decision.

  There are other Odin Books to come. They may not be about Josette and Max but there is one already finished about Diana and Jean Rene and because I love a good story, and LOVE this one, I’m certain there will be stories for all the characters. Full length and maybe a few short.

  One more thing: tense change. I wrote the book how it told me to write it. If you don’t write you may not get it, if you do write, you may not get it, all I know, is that it felt wrong to try to write it any other way (and I tried), so I kept the story how it wanted to be written.
