In this episode, the friends find out that some secrets can hurt.

  THE STORY SO FAR

Holden Danvers, the bad boy of Springvale, Indiana supposedly cares about nothing and no one but we see that he’s badly involved with Natalie Gleeson, a woman who also happens to be his mother’s acquaintance and even though Holden realizes that he’s heading for disaster, he can’t seem to stop seeing her.

Until he runs into Jamie Crawford in a hotel room hallway in Vegas.

Jamie is in Vegas with her boyfriend Alex but Alex turns out to be a jerk and she’s still confused about losing her virginity to him.

One night, while Alex is out hitting on other women, Jamie meets Daniel and they share a moment, end up kissing each other.

But it doesn’t amount to anything because the same night, someone drugs both Jamie and Holden and they end up in bed together, instead of their respective partners.

When they wake up the next morning, Holden realizes what’s going on and decides to help Jamie and find out why this happened.

When Daniel finds out that Jamie slept with Holden he jumps to conclusions and hates Jamie’s guts, and when Jamie sees the scantily-clad woman in Daniel’s room she starts having the same doubts about Daniel.

Sebastian is getting letters from someone unnamed, unknown for the past two years and he’s in love and can’t seem to stop himself.

Teague and Mia are friends with Holden, Daniel and Sebastian and Mia doesn’t want to be in a serious relationship and Teague hates the idea but continues to be with her because he loves her.

The friends all help Jamie get rid of Alex and teach him a lesson and Alex tells them that a strange man threatened him and that’s the reason he drugged Jamie and brought her in Holden’s room. They let Alex go because Jamie isn’t willing to press charges.

Holden gets angry that Jamie won’t press charges and hates that she is so weak and calls her a doormat. He vows to change her and for one night, takes Jamie’s help to get to Natalie when she breaks up with him over a single text.

The night, after rubbing Jamie in Natalie’s face, and meeting Pierre, Holden starts to have feelings for Jamie when she’s leaving for the airport.

But Jamie tells him she doesn’t want to be some rebound relationship and that they can pick this up when they get back to Springvale and they’ve spent some time apart.

Holden agrees and once they do meet in Springvale, they both find themselves getting attracted to each other and end up sleeping together.

Time passes and one day Holden takes Jamie to a dinner that his mother is throwing at the Danvers Residence. Daniel’s mother Cynthia acts nicely with Holden, but when she’s alone with Jamie and Daniel she’s downright mean and when she figures out that Jamie is pregnant, she claims Jamie is trying to ruin her son’s life and tells her to have an abortion.

Holden has no knowledge of this interaction.

Jamie leaves with Daniel, and when they reach her place Daniel can’t control his feelings for her and tries to kiss her. Holden catches them doing this, finds out Jamie is pregnant and thinks that Jamie was cheating on him. He storms out of Jamie’s apartment and he and Daniel end up having a confrontation on the street. He asks Jamie why she hid it from him and Jamie manages to calm him down but at the same moment, Daniel sees a black motorcycle approaching and the rider pulls out a gun and shoots Holden.

After suffering an immense amount of blood loss Holden has to be in the hospital to recuperate. He forgives Jamie for keeping the news of the pregnancy from him but he can’t seem to forgive Daniel and tells him to stay away from Jamie.

Daniel gets angry and the two friends start having differences that no one can resolve.

  Me
anwhile, Holden finds out through a man named Harlow who has been following him that his mother is the one who hired the shooter and that it was meant for Jamie and not him. Holden gets angry at his mother but he still has some major information to process: Harlow and Ronnie tell him that Edmond Danvers, Holden’s father who raised him after his mother was abandoned by his biological father soon after Holden was born, was the owner of a large drug empire.

And that’s not all—now that his father is gone, Holden is the one who has to accept the position as heir of the empire.

Holden says he won’t do it, and the tabloid #Hashtag keeps messing with them, releasing information that isn’t supposed to be released and the friends are becoming target of the news somehow.

Holden realizes that he might put Jamie’s life in danger because of what he is so he breaks up with Jamie even though he still loves her and lies to his mother that she’s getting an abortion. His mother seems appeased by this information and Holden goes on to live life without Jamie.

Jamie, heartbroken by Holden’s harsh words, calls Daniel and asks him for help but doesn’t tell him what she needs help with. When Daniel arrives she asks him to drive to a pharmacy. When they get to the pharmacy Daniel realizes Jamie took him there to get abortion pills of some kind. He refuses to help her and they’re standing outside Daniel’s car, talking heatedly, Daniel is trying to convince her to wait to get the abortion, when three men step out of an SUV and beat Daniel up severely, kidnap Jamie.

Daniel calls Holden and can’t even speak properly but even on Holden’s insistence, Daniel refuses to go to the hospital. Pierre calls with information on Jamie’s kidnapping and reveals that he and Natalie have Jamie because they want something from Holden’s mother. Pierre says something about the Kendall River files and Holden has no idea what that means but he goes straight to his mother and tells her he needs the files.

His mother refuses to give the files and tells him Pierre will never give Jamie back that he simply wants to get the files.

Disappointed by his mother, when Holden steps out of the house with Daniel, Pierre calls again and Holden lies to him that he has the files. When Daniel asks why he lied, Holden says he knows where the files are.

Holden tries to steal the files from his father’s vault, and doesn’t have the passcode. In an interesting turn of events, Holden’s mother catches him and instead of going against him as Holden expects, hands the files to Holden but asks him to be careful.

Holden and Daniel take the files and go to free Jamie at the given destination but Pierre brings out a weapon and makes it complicated. But Holden hasn’t come as unarmed as he seems.

Right outside the warehouse where they were holding Jamie, Pierre’s men come under attack. It’s not revealed by who but it’s revealed that both Pierre and Holden know.

Natalie gets worried and tells Pierre to hurry and shoot but Holden shoots Natalie in the leg to stop them. He knows Pierre loves Natalie, and he’s right—Pierre chooses to save Natalie and run instead of facing Holden and whatever is happening outside.

Jamie is saved, and Holden goes out to see his mother and the men that his ‘family’ employs, including Max, were the ones who were using heavy ammunition to kill every single one of Pierre’s people.

Jamie’s mother says sorry to Jamie, Holden and Daniel and it seems everything is going to be okay now, or at least it will be in some time.

But at night, when Jamie’s staying over and still in bed with Holden, Holden proposes to her. Jamie accepts when Holden tells her he wants the baby to have his name and that he loves her.

But the same night, when Jamie is asleep, Holden gets out of bed and calls someone.

It’s revealed that his reasons for proposing Jamie were not exactly as pure as Jamie thinks.

But it looks like Holden can’t catch a break.

Because #Hashtag reveals the news that the baby Jamie is carrying belongs not to Holden, but to Daniel and they post a DNA test to prove it.

Desert Dreams and the Broken Lover

  MIA

  It’s a dream.

You know how I know that?

Because nothing real can be this flawless.

The need to stay in this dream, I feel it every single time he touches me and makes everything in the background seem like faded white-noise. Every single time he puts his arms around me, I feel the nagging fear, of losing the sense that the world doesn’t exist anymore outside of our bodies, our souls.

In the dream, I’m far away, in some desert, thirsty, nothing but the sound of the air rushing past me in strong gusts, and from somewhere I hear Teague approaching. His bare feet make soft noises in the sand, and he’s wearing his ripped jeans and a shirt and as he comes towards me he looks like a mirage—like everything else in this place. His shirt is open, showing off his flawless body and in the glare of the sun I can see every inch of his six-pack abs and his workout-toned body. His chest glistens with moisture, tightened pecs and muscular arms show from underneath the almost see-through fabric of the shirt and I know that I never want to wake up.

“Hey!” Teague snaps his fingers in front of my face and I look at the mirror in front of me. His sea-green eyes stare at my reflection, and his hair is short cropped and dark, freshly cut. “Why do you look so lost?”

Because I am lost, I’m tempted to say.

“What do you think of the dress?” I try to change the subject.

  “It’s nice.”

“It better be. I paid a lot for this thing.”

  “You want my honest opinion?”

  I turn towards him. “Yes.”

“I think it’s a total waste of money.”

I stare blankly at him. “You don’t like it?”

“You didn’t have to spend so much,” Teague says. He walks up to me and leans in so he can whisper in my ear. “When you know it’s just going to come off in an hour.”

I grin. “An hour?” I say. “It’s our graduation celebration! Holden’s not going to let us leave! He’s been waiting to celebrate for so long, we can’t just ditch them! This is supposed to be in our honor!”

“You know what,” Teague says. “You’re right, Mia.”

He places his hands on my hips and hauls me up, and I grab onto him for support. “Teague!”

“If we can’t ditch them after,” Teague says. “Then we’ll just have to make time for it now.”

  “Teague!!!” I protest.

But instead of putting me down, he places me on top of the dresser, my back against the mirror and he pushes his body into mine. His mouth descends on my neck, placing tiny kisses that feel like miniature bolts of electricity. “Teague…”

He lifts my dress and starts to lower my lace panties but I stop him. “Teague…no.”

“That’s not very convincing, Mia.” Teague says and he’s right. I can feel my own resolve breaking as his hands deftly remove what’s in their way and my panties are lying on the floor next to Teague’s feet. He uses his hands to spread my legs, and his head goes between my thighs, his tongue explores and invades, reaches places that I didn’t even know existed. I can’t believe how hot I am for him, how much I want this—it makes me feel dirty inside but I don’t care. Just knowing that there are people right outside this room, that they’re partying and already dressed and expecting us to be there, while we’re in here and no one has any clue what we’re up to, it’s exciting.

My hands grab the back of his head and start guiding. “Fuck!”

  This is wrong.

  This is so, so wrong.

  It’s nothing but a dream, a fantasy.

It will disappear into thin air anytime now because nothing can be this perfect, that’s just a rule of this world. Everything is broken. Damaged. Destroyed. So how can we be different?

But here I am, my back against a mirror my legs propped a
gainst Teague’s beautiful body, his hardness thrusting into me, and I can’t even think straight.

  The Theory of Non-Existence

  SEBASTIAN

I can’t wait anymore, Sebastian. You either see me or I’m going to stop sending these letters because I don’t want to be a nuisance. Besides, I’ve said everything I wanted to say. But if you don’t believe that I’m telling the truth then perhaps we’re not meant to be.

Someone grabs the letter from my hand and I automatically try to get it back. But before I can, Teague is already reading it. He looks at me with a hint of a smile on his face. “Sebastian,” he says. “You’re not seriously thinking of meeting this chick, are you?”

“Teague, give me back the letter.”

“No,” Teague says stubbornly, stashing the letter into his jeans’ pocket. “No way am I giving this back. Sebastian, I’m your friend. I don’t want to see you get hurt. This could be a trap! Someone could try to hurt you. I mean, leaving the letters in your mail? Sending them at parties? Whoever this is, they sound so stalkerish! How can you even take this seriously?”

“I’m not,” I say, weakly. But I know that hasn’t convinced anyone.

Teague comes and puts a heavy arm around my shoulders. “There are so many women in this town,” he says. “Why are you so hung up on this one?”

  “I don’t know,” I admit. “There’s just something about those letters…”

“They’re a lie, Sebastian. They have to be. Someone’s probably playing a prank on you! Who writes freaking letters in this day and age, dude?”

“Can you just give it back?”

“No friggin’ way,” Teague says and sees that Mia is coming and goes over to her and kisses her. Mia looks positively glowing. They’ve clearly just had sex when they were back in the room, they’re oozing post-sex pheromones.

“Hey guys,” Holden comes and thwacks my back. “How’re you liking the party?”
