  RICCARDO TROVAPERDI.

The small town of Accolville, about seven o'clock in the morning like every morning, was still sleepy. The morning stillness was broken only by the sound of the engine small car and quickly walked the streets and the footsteps of those who was on his way to work.

The dark and full sound of the engine of a big car, however, sounded Via dei Martiri.

Dr. Richard Trovaperdi like every morning, walked the little straight, accelerating that bit to hear the roar of the big engine of his brand new Maserati coupe.

As usual, at the end of Via dei Martiri, Dr. Trovaperdi, in downshifting, gave this flick sull'accelleratore, intrigued enough to run and sometimes frightened passersby. That morning, the angle between the fast path of the Martyrs and the Innocents small street, there was an elderly lady who, on hearing the noise of the car Trovaperdi, winced, saying: - Oh! What is it? - And then, realizing the situation, noting the smile of Trovaperdi, exclaimed: - Damn hooligans! -.

Before starting work, Trovaperdi stopped, as was his custom, to breakfast at the Victory Bar, located not far from the study.

Richard Trovaperdi, after parking the car in the place reserved for him, running down the car launched in automatically and almost involuntary, a look at the windows of the building, located not far from the bar to see if Judith, the cleaning lady , had completed its work. It was easy to notice that, since the end of cleaning, Judith left half-open all the windows of the study, so the ground to dry and ventilate the big studio.

From the quick look launched on the first floor, Trovaperdi had understood that it was all ready to go. Before doing so, however, was a must stop for breakfast at Bar Mario.

The Bar of Victories is a popular institution in central Accolville and its owner, Mario, showed a deep respect that at times turned into blatant flattery, for Dr. Trovaperdi. These, in fact, his manner composed, his obvious professionalism and his elegant dress always appeared to be the ideal customer. So, for Mario, a little more deference was necessary to build customer loyalty.

  - Hello dear doctor! - Mario said, his voice clear and obsequious, just saw the distinguished guest to enter the Bar.

  - Hello Mario - Trovaperdi said.

  - The servant usual doctor? - Asked Mario.

  - Sure! - Trovaperdi said.

How was breakfast every morning Trovaperdi stained with soy milk and apple strudel. The choice of soy milk Trovaperdi accounted for, as well as a healthy beverage, and importantly, a way to stand out from the other patrons of the Bar that he flaunted her feel different from others not only in dress, very nice, but also in how you relate to others. For Richard, in fact, not everyone was equal, then, not everyone should be treated the same way.

In preparing the hot milk, Mario, with his usual complacent and obsequious tone, turning to her beloved client says: - Congratulations to the car doctor, superb -.

  - The most beautiful thing, though, - pointed Trovaperdi - you can not see but feel it is the engine -.

  - There is no doubt - said Mario - just parked I turned to see which car he got the sound -. And in handing the cup of milk tainted with an elegant gesture: - This is for her doctor! -.

Mario was a tough little man with a mustache like the nineteenth century, even though gentle-mannered, as Trovaperdi not only loved the car but did distinguish between the customers of its popular bars, and the good name of the room must be maintained, he used to cry for justify his ways, sometimes very rough and in sharp contrast with what appeared to her figure.

  - You know doctor - Mario continued - his Maserati is one of the few in circulation and does something to see -.

Before Trovaperdi began to reply, Mario, with the proper manners of which he was master, he indicated that someone was looking for him.

  - Hello Doctor - said Mike, a member of a major customer of Trovaperdi - What a chance meeting at this hour in the morning! -.

-Oh, hello - he said - that to see you again here in Italy. I often see his partner Luiss in my studio, but she is just so much that I could not see -.

  - Quite right, Doctor. The reason for my return to Italy is linked to that operation that she is following. I have just left the studio other documents relating to that thing that we have to conclude shortly and it is important that all documents are in order -.

-Yes, quite right! - Trovaperdi said with condescending tone - I can assure you that my staff and collaborators are working hard to complete the documents and bring them to the capital. Do not worry about anything! -.

The appeasement of Trovaperdi was due to the fact that the difficult practice of members Luiss and Mike was very profitable, and unfortunately created considerable problems for the tight deadlines that had to be carried out by the poor and oppressed Santino, who collaborated with right arm of the study was not that superb Trovaperdi.

  - We trust in her doctor - Mike said - in a hurry and now I have to go. Again doctor treats! -.

Richard, after seeing the time on his watch pocket, motioned for Mario to come to the cashier.

Mario-I'm sorry but today, as you understand, I really hurry -.

  - Imagine a doctor. I'm sorry that you can not stop to read two news items in newspapers as usual but ... -. Before you finish the sentence Mario was interrupted by a black man who was brought into the bar begging to Trovaperdi who had already in hand to pay for her breakfast.

Seeing the black man approaching, these, although pleaded not racist and open to culture, made a gesture of disgust, so that Mario, even harder than he usually did, he exclaimed: Exit I-Bar and do not bother customers or I'll call the police! -.

On seeing the man leave, Mario, yet with a clear look annoyed, exclaimed: - I am really sorry, Doctor, but with all these blacks has become a problem for us traders -.

  - I understand you, Mario! -, Trovaperdi nodded.

Mario, hearing a certain harmony in the speech, went on to say: "The situation was not so in the center. Unfortunately now these blacks are stopped in the station and if they are lucky they can find work at the station as well. "

Trovaperdi, although in a hurry, wanted to know: - In what sense? Who from their work station? -.

Mario, with a disgusted look: - Pedro! A colleague of mine who has a bar there. When you can make them work. He says he wants to help because it has a sensitive soul -.

After a quick glance of understanding, Trovaperdi, paid and left the bar to get to the office.
