Story #1: Dumpy and the Genie of Fortune

Dumpy is a 6-year-old dragon who lives in the dragon village. He lives with his mom, dad, sister, and big brother. Dumpy is a very happy and active dragon. Dumpy had a lot of friends inside the village and also outside the village.

The friends outside the village were very generous and sweet, but they were very poor.

Dumpy decided that he wanted to become rich in order to help his poor friends and their families. He didn’t know how he could become rich, so he searched for help. He heard about a magic lamp that could summon the Genie of Fortune. This genie had the power to make anyone rich.

Dumpy told the other dragons in the village his plans and asked if they knew about the Genie of Fortune. Many dragons laughed at him and thought that he was crazy. They said things like, “There is no such thing as a magic lamp,” and, “You will never become rich,” and, “Keep on daydreaming Dumpy.” This made Dumpy very sad, but he was determined to find this lamp. He had already made a promise that he would help his friends outside the village!

He searched for days, weeks, and even months, but he couldn’t find any information about the lamp. Dumpy was starting to doubt himself. Were the people of the village right? Was this a dream that never would become true?

He searched in the forest, but he couldn’t find the lamp. He searched in the dessert, but no animal could help him. He even asked the Dragon King of the village, but he said that there was no such thing as a fortune lamp.

Dumpy started to cry. He was afraid that he could never help all his poor and unfortunate friends from outside the village. He was alone and cried all day.

At some point, Dumpy fell asleep and had a dream. He heard a genie saying to him: “Never give up your dreams, Dumpy! Other people are going to tell you that you can’t make it, but that is not true! If you really want to find me, find me in the oldest shop in the village!” Dumpy woke up and thought about the vision he had seen. “The oldest shop of the village”, what did the genie meant with that? Dumpy thought really hard, and at one point, it hit him. That’s right, the antique shop! The antique shop is a shop where you can buy very old products!

Dumpy raced to the antique shop and saw an old but beautiful lamp. He asked the store owner how much it would cost to buy the lamp, but the store owner was happy to give it away to him for free. “This lamp is garbage. No one wants to buy it. You can have it if you really want it, Dumpy!” Dumpy was very happy. He would be able to summon the Genie of Fortune now!

He flew to the forest as fast as he could. This was a place where no one could disturb him. He rubbed the lamp, but nothing happened. He began doubting himself again. Maybe the people from the village were right. Maybe this was just a fake dream…

Dumpy was ready to give up on his dream, and he tossed the lamp in the water. When he was about to walk away, he saw a light coming from the water. He grabbed the lamp, and he saw the words, “What is your wish?” engraved on the lamp.

He shouted: “Oh, dear Genie of Fortune, if you are real, show me a way to become rich!” It became silent in the forest. Dumpy was observing the lamp, but nothing happened… But, after a minute, a great light came from the lamp, and the Genie of Fortune appeared!

Dumpy became anxious and happy at the same time. He was right after all, the Genie of Fortune really existed!

The Genie asked with a very loud voice: “Who summoned me!?”

Dumpy said anxiously: “Ehm, it’s me, Dumpy. I want to ask for a wish.”

The Genie said: “Hmmm, what is your wish, young dragon...?”

“My wish is to become rich in order to help my friends outside the village!”

“This is not an easy task”, the Genie shouted. “But, I will help you because this is a very generous wish!” The Fortune Genie granted him a bag of gold and returned to his lamp.

Dumpy was very happy and went to his friends outside the village. He showed them the bag of gold, now they could built a village. His friends were very grateful, and they played together for the rest of the day.

  The End

Narry the Narrator: “So Dumpy, what did you learn today”?

Dumpy: “I have learned that you should never give up! If you have a dream, you should go for it, even when everyone says that you can’t achieve it!”

Narry the Narrator: “That’s right! So kids, if you have a dream to achieve something, let no one tell you that you can’t make it!”

  Until next time, little dragons!

Story #2: Dumpy and the Dragon Heroes

Dumpy is a 6-year-old dragon who lives in the dragon village. He lives with his mom, dad, sister, and big brother. Dumpy is a very happy and active dragon. Dumpy has a lot of friends inside the village and also outside the village.

One day Dumpy decided to go out and play.

He went to the Dragon Garden, a garden where other dragons of Dumpy’s age plays with each other. He saw Lumpy, his best friend. They decided to play hide and seek together. They enjoyed playing with each other and played all day.

At some point, another dragon approached them. It was Sassy, the timid dragon. Sassy was different from the other dragons, an odd purple color. Sassy asked dumpy and lumpy if he could play with them. Dumpy replied: “No, you are different than us, you can’t play with us!” Sassy became very upset and left. He looked back and saw that Dumpy and Lumpy had a good time with each other. He cried and wondered why no one wanted to play with him.

The sun went down. Dumpy and Lumpy went home. “Until tomorrow Lumpy!” “Until tomorrow, be safe!” Dumpy went to sleep and had a dream…

He went outside and saw himself play with Lumpy. He was confused, how was it that he could see himself playing outside? He approached the other Dumpy and Lumpy and asked if he could play with them. The other Dumpy and Lumpy looked
at him in a weird way and they replied: “No, you are different than us, you can’t play with us!” Dumpy was very confused and told them: “But I am the same as you guys!” Lumpy and the other Dumpy laughed at him and said: “No Sassy, you are different than us. You have an odd color. Leave us alone!”

Dumpy became upset and flew to the lake. He looked at his own reflection and saw that he was Sassy! Dumpy was shocked and also realized how Sassy felt when he wasn’t allowed to play with them earlier on. Dumpy cried and was alone in the Dragon Forest.

Dumpy woke up and went to the lake as fast as he could, he looked at his own reflection and saw that he was himself again. “So this how Sassy felt yesterday when we didn’t allow him to play with us. We were very mean!”

Dumpy went to Lumpy to play together again. “Lumpy, I have to say something…” Dumpy told. “What’s the matter Dumpy”, Lumpy replied. “I think that we were very mean to Sassy yesterday.” “No, that is not true” Lumpy replied. “Sassy is different than us so he can’t play with us.” Dumpy replied: “I understand that you think that, but that is no good reason to leave him all by himself. Sassy is also a dragon, we should treat others how we want to be treated!” Lumpy stopped and thought about what Dumpy said and he replied: “I think…That you are right. We should treat him as a friend. I would be very sad if others would do to me what we did to him yesterday.” Dumpy said: “Yes! I am glad that you agree. Let’s find him and play with him.”

Dumpy and Lumpy went to the Dragon Forest and saw Sassy all by himself. They approached him but suddenly he yelled while he was crying: “Leave me alone! You guys are mean!” Dumpy and Lumpy became silent. “I only wanted to play with you guys, why did you guys did that to me yesterday?” Dumpy: “Listen, you are right, we didn’t know that we were hurting your feelings. Let us make it up with you, play with us!” Sassy hesitated and replied: “Really? Do you mean that?” Dumpy: “Yes, we mean it! We thought about what we did and we realize that we were mean to you, we’re sorry!” “Ok”, Sassy shouted with a big smile.

Sassy, Dumpy and Lumpy played together and became best friends. They now call themselves ‘The Dragon Heroes’ and they played for the rest of the day…

  The End

Narry the Narrator: “So Dumpy, what did you learn today”?

Dumpy: “I have learned that you can never cast someone out if they look different than you. That is mean and it hurts their feelings. I also learned that you should treat others how you want to be treated!

Narry the Narrator: “That’s right! So kids, treat others how you want to be treated!”

  Until next time, little dragons!

Story #3: The Dragon Heroes in Action!

Dumpy is a 6-year-old dragon who lives in the dragon village. He lives with his mom, dad, sister, and big brother. Dumpy is a very happy and active dragon. Dumpy has a lot of friends inside the village and also outside the village. One day Dumpy decided to go out and play.

Mom and dad told Dumpy to take a warm shower first before he went out, but Dumpy didn’t want to. Dumpy: “Cool dragons don’t need to shower, they get dirty because they are tough!” Dumpy went outside and played with the Dragon Heroes. The Dragon Heroes consists of Sassy, Dumpy and Lumpy. They went through the whole Dragon Village to help other dragons with their chores. They cleaned the houses of other dragons, they took care of their pets and they mowed their lawns.

They played happily with each other and decided to make a rule. The dragon who worked the hardest could be the leader of the Dragon Heroes for a day. They did this every day. Lumpy managed to become the leader 3 times in a row and Sassy 2 times. Dumpy didn’t became the leader of The Dragon Heroes yet so he was determined to work really hard today.

The Dragon King of the village asked The Dragon Heroes to visit the Grannie Dragon and help her with some chores. So they went to the Grannie Dragon, the oldest dragon of the village. She always was very nice and gave the little dragons lava cookies when they visited her.

When they arrived at the Grannie Dragon’s house, she said: “Oh young and strong dragons, do these chores and I will reward you greatly! I will go to my neighbor to drink some tea, make sure to be done when I am back!” The Dragon Heroes had to clean her house, feed her cat, and do many other things. Dumpy worked really hard and was sweating a lot. At some point Lumpy said “What is that bad smell!” Sassy and Dumpy didn’t know where the smell came from and decided to ignore the smell and carry on with their mission.

After they did all the chores, the Grannie Dragon returned home and she became very mad. “Children! I said that you had to clean the house, but it smells like a garbage truck! What is this smell and why didn’t you cleaned the house properly?” Lumpy, Dumpy and Sassy were very confused, they worked hard to clean the house, but why did the smell remained? Sassy said to the Grannie Dragon: “Ma’am, I understand that you are upset, but we really worked hard. We really don’t understand where the smell is coming from!”

The Grannie Dragon thought deeply and asked them a question: “Who here took a shower today before they came to visit me?” Sassy and Lumpy raised their hands. The Grannie Dragon yelled: “What!? Did’nt you take a shower Dumpy!?” Dumpy: “Ehm, no ma’am, cool dragons don’t take showers!” Sassy and Lumpy laughed. Grannie Dragon: “You are smelling very bad young dragon! If you want to become the coolest dragon, you need to take care of yourself. So this also means that you should shower every single day!” She grabbed him and tossed him into the Dragon Bath. “Go wash yourself young man!”

Sassy and Lumpy were laughing out loud. It was funny to see the Grannie Dragon getting mad at Dumpy. They also found it funny that Dumpy thought that he was cool. After 30 minutes, Dumpy came from the shower and he smelled very sweet and looked fresh. His teeth where shining again and his wings were clean again.

The Grannie Dragon then told the dragons: “Let me tell you boys something important. In order to become the smartest, coolest and strongest dragon in the village, you’ll need to shower every day! No one is going to take you serious if you smell bad. Especially the girl dragons, they will keep themselves away from you! Now, this is the last time that I catch any of you skip the shower in the morning!”

“Yes ma’am”, the Dragon Heroes replied. Sassy: “We are very sorry, Dumpy didn’t know that he should shower every day.” Dumpy: “Mommy and Daddy also warned me to shower, but I didn’t wanted to listen. I will never skip a shower session again I will always brush my teeth!”

Grannie Dragon: “Good. Now, take these delicious lava cookies I baked this morning and go and play outside. Your mission is done. Thank you, Dragon Heroes” “No problem, ma’am. We are always ready to serve anyone in the Dragon Village. We want to become the strongest Dragons of the village”, they replied. Grannie Dragon: “I know for sure that you will. I know for sure that you will!”

They left the Grannie Dragon’s house and went playing again. Sassy and Lumpy laughed again and told Dumpy that he should stop thinking that he was cool if he wouldn’t shower. Dumpy laughed and told them that they were right. Lumpy: “We can both agree that Dumpy was the leader of the day, right?” Sassy: “Yes! Dumpy congratulations on becoming today’s leader!” Dumpy: “Thank you guys!” They then went home.

  The End

Narry the Narrator: “So Dumpy, what did you learn today”?

Dumpy: “I have learned that you need to shower and brush your teeth twice a day! It is not cool to smell bad, this will not help you to become the best dragon!”

Narry the Narrator: “That’s right Dumpy! You are one smart Dragon!

So kids remember, make sure to shower every day and brush your teeth twice a day. This will help you to become the smartest, coolest and strongest dragon!”

  Until next time, little dragons!
