  Happy Spank Patrick’s Day

Cali, Max, and Sean are hosting a kinky St. Patrick’s Day party for the Suncoast Society. From unicorn shibari photo shoots to crazy party games, it’s bound to be a wild night—even if Cali’s bondage-loving cat, Baxter, has been confined to a back room for the duration of the festivities.

Yet it’s not all fun and games. Before the party even happens, tragedy overshadows the evening, driving home the point that life is short and uncertain, friends are everything, and each moment should be fully appreciated. It also brings a lingering, unsettled question back to the forefront for the triad.

For tonight, they’ve been asked to carry on, and that’s what they’ll do. But as the party plays out around them, will their future path finally solidify in their minds, or will it leave them with more doubts and questions than answers?

  Chapter One

An e-mail sent out by Tony Daniels to specially selected members of the Suncoast Society munch group:

  February 19…

  Dear Friends,

Are you recovered from Valentine’s Day? No? Well, Max, Sean, and Cali have volunteered to host the Happy Spank Patrick’s Day party. (There are only so many kinky holiday name variations I can come up with, sorry.) You and your significant (or non-significant) other(s) are invited.

It’s time for the wearing of the green! (Or black and blue and red…asses.)

Dress up (or undress) for a sexy night of kinky festivities, fun, and frivolity.

Thanks to someone *cough Ross cough* using a Christmas tree as an insertable, we’ve had requests not to have an actual rigging contest during this
party to give the rope bottoms a chance to recover their pride from the past few. There will be a suspension frame available, though.

And, thanks to everyone apparently shopping at the same place for their Christmas party white elephant gifts, we’ll have a “Trying for Tentacles” pool game, for those who feel like taking a dip. (Prizes!)

The event takes place Saturday, March 18th.

RSVP to Tony before Monday, March 13th. Directions and parking instructions will be sent to those who RSVP on Tuesday, March 14th.

  Arrive after 6:00 p.m.

Dinner will be at 7:00 p.m.

  Stay and play until ???

There is a heated pool and a hot tub. If you’d like to use them, bring a towel and a bathing suit. The towel is mandatory, but the suit is optional.

Please bring a side dish to share, and beverages of your choice. There will be a main barbecue dish provided (beef and chicken).

  HOUSE RULES:

  1) Please arrive in non-fetish attire. The neighbors are very vanilla and we do not want to upset their peaceful world.

  2) Dress for a sexy barbecue. If you want to change (or strip) after dark for sexy play, that’s okay, too.

  3) Don’t bring uninvited guests (we usually say yes if you want to add someone, but please ask first), and please don’t talk about the party to anyone not on the guest list.

  4) NO drugs. No smoking inside (outside on lanai ONLY in designated area).

  5) Alcohol is allowed, but you must bring your own and play responsibly.

  6) Please leave the parking spaces near the house free for people bringing play furniture. If you wish to bring play furniture, please coordinate with Ross, Tony, or Max. Due to street parking, please pay attention to the parking instructions that will be included in the confirmation e-mail.

  7) No flushing anything down the toilet that isn’t toilet paper or didn’t come from inside your…

  Chapter Two

“Wow. So far, it looks like we’ll have at least forty for the party Saturday night.” Cali looked up from her phone, from the e-mail with the latest list Tony had sent her. “And he said there are fifteen more maybes from the pool of people he allows to give maybes, or who had valid reasons for being a maybe.”

It was Thursday afternoon, and the final plans were underway. Cali was conferring with her neighbor and best friend, Essie.

Essie nodded. “That’s a good-sized party. This whole street will be packed. My guys are going to leave their vehicles at work tomorrow evening and carpool back here together in my car so people can use our driveway and yard to park in, too.”

They were sitting on Essie’s lanai. Essie’s baby boy, Eddie, lay soundly sleeping in his play crib next to her.

“I bet your mom’s looking forward to babysitting tomorrow.”

“She can’t wait.” Essie’s smile faded. “I can’t believe everything that’s happened. It feels like it was yesterday that I was flying back here from Spokane after getting that call.”

  “How’s she doing?”

“The house is gorgeous. She’s finally finished everything major she wanted to do, including painting. And she baby-proofed it, too. Eddie’s got his own room there now. It was my room. The backyard is a kid’s paradise. She looks twenty years younger, no kidding.”

Cali tipped her head as she studied her friend. “How are you doing?”

Her heavy sigh hovered over the table for a long moment before dissipating. “I’m still angry,” she quietly said. “More than I thought I should be. Ted finally called me out on it and I’m going to start seeing Doyle. Professionally,” she added, even though she didn’t need to. “Now that he’s back in town, he can take me on as a side client. When he’s out of town, we can have phone sessions.”

  “I’m sorry.”

“Nothing for you to apologize for. You didn’t do anything wrong. Mom keeps apologizing, too, and I’m not even angry at her, if that sounds weird. I’m mad at my father for being a hoarder. I know that’s as irrational as hoarding is, but it’s how I feel. I see how happy Mom is now, and it sucks that she couldn’t find that happiness with the man she chose to stand beside all those years. Why he had to push us away with a mountain of garbage…”

She took a long, deep, shuddering breath. “But that’s in the past. And I need to learn to get past it. Becoming a mom sort of drove it all home for me a lot harder than it had before, made me finally face it. Which is what Doyle’s going to try to help me with.” Essie forced a smile. “So when are we throwing Mal a baby shower? I thought we’d hear something from Chelbie by now.”

Cali thought about that. “You know, I haven’t seen either one of them online the past couple of days. I wonder if we’re holding a surprise shower or letting Mal in on it?”

“Chelbie had mentioned maybe a surprise party. But we talked before the Valentine’s Day party. I’ll need to ask her. She’s the one planning it.”

“True,” Cali said. “Chelbie’s her bestie.”

“Make sure someone talks to Tilly,” Essie said. “Find out her schedule. You know she’ll want to be there.”

“I’ll e-mail her once we talk to Chelbie,” Cali volunteered. “I know Tilly’s out of town right now. They’re not coming tomorrow night.”

  “Aw.”

“Loren and Ross will be there.”

  “Ooh. That’ll be fun.”

“Loren’s added Christmas trees to her hard limits.”

  Essie laughed. “I bet that’s a first.”

“With this group? I wouldn’t be too sure.”

  * * * *

Baxter, her cat, greeted Cali when she returned as if she’d been gone a year instead of an hour for her daily walk down to her best friend’s house. Picking him up, she carried him to the extra bedroom that served as their home office.

Her full-time job was running the Two Crafty Bastards Toys website and fulfilling the orders that came in. Her two men, Max and Sean, were master kinky craftsmen. It wasn’t profitable enough for them to quit their day jobs, but she’d been running the site for well over a year now.

Baxter was responsible for their popularity. Max and Sean had jokingly doped him up with catnip once and then tied a rope harness on him and posted the pics online.

  They went viral almost immediately.

Now, people stopped by their website as much for pictures of Baxter’s playful “pussy bondage” as they did to shop.

Not a bad problem to have.

Baxter now had a whole closet of special little outfits for various holidays and occasions they dressed him up in for photo shoots. Then they sometimes Photoshopped him into pics of Sean tied up in a variety of ways.

In fact, she needed to finish processing the latest batch to get them ready for their promotion. She was still trying to decide which one to use.

They’d created St. Patrick’s Day photo shoots before with Baxter, but she didn’t like reusing old pictures for promotions. Posting them on social media was different.

This one, they hadn’t needed to Photoshop Baxter into it. He’d willingly played along.

She shook her mouse, waking the computer up. On her screen where she’d left off, Sean crouched on his hands and knees, dressed as a unicorn—resplendent in a latex full-head mask, multi-colored rope bondage harness, latex front hoof mitts, and a rainbow butt plug tail—with Baxter sitting on his back. The cat had been dressed as a leprechaun, and Sean held one front hoof up and was pointing to a Halloween cauldron filled with gold-foil-wrapped chocolate coins.

  Happy St. Patrick’s Day, y’all.

What she couldn’t decide was the background to put behind it. She’d tried a few different ones, and none of them were really thrilling her. She had until tomorrow night to figure it out, because that was when she was changing the website header and activating the special holiday code for the sale that would run through the following weekend.

She was still sitting there when Max texted her that he and Sean were on their way home from work.
/>   Smiling, she saved her work and got up to start dinner. Coming up on nearly two years with Max and Sean, sometimes she still wanted to pinch herself. The two men were like an answered prayer.

Lately, the men had broached the topic of marriage, now that the gay marriage ban had fallen. When the three of them got together, they’d “co-collared” each other, since they were all switches, and the men had added Cali to all their assets and legal paperwork as a partner.

Before, the men hadn’t been able to get married. Now…

Now she kind of wanted them to get married, even though the men had mentioned her maybe marrying one of them. They’d been together twelve years before she’d met them, first as friends and roommates, then literally forced together as lovers by an abusive ex-Domme of theirs…until the men realized they really liked the lovers part of things.

Exit the abusive ex-Domme, and the men’s bond only strengthened.

Then Cali had lucked into them after her ex had left her in the lurch. She wasn’t much of a believer in fate or religion, but it sure seemed like life had settled down for her. Had she not been left, she never would have been with the men and enjoying this life she now loved.

And her ex, who’d dumped her for someone he’d met on FetLife and moved to Miami to be with her, was now apparently single again and had returned to the Sarasota area.

  Not that she cared, frankly.

One nagging issue that kept pecking at her brain was the one thing she couldn’t make up her mind about.

  Having kids.

Part of her wanted to have a baby.

  Part of her didn’t.
